Do It Yourself speaker building...Next Project

I should probably put a date here.
The following page(s) will contain information on Do-It-Yourself (DIY) speaker building. This is a hobby that has just gripped me and pulled me in. There is a lot more to understand than screwing a couple of pieces of wood together. Instead of listing the vast things that one must learn before attempting to tackle a worthwhile subwoofer project, I will just refer you to a couple of sites and discussion forums that I used to acquire the minute bit of knowledge I have.

DIY Subs.org
This site is an ABSOLUTE MUST for anyone serious about their audio, whether it be car or home. Check it out.

DIY Subs.org Discussion forum
This discussion board is a vast plethora of information. Some contributors are industry professionals, to die-hard DIY enthusiasts. This is a must for the little questions you may end up having.

JL Audio Tutorials Page
JL does a great job in these tutorials to give decent general information, and uses layman's terms to describe and define things. A good read and very informative.

Do It Yourself speaker building...My experience

I should probably put a date here.
I have been building and installing car stereo amplifiers and subwoofers even before I had a car of my own to work with. I can remember my sophmore year in high school, talking over the "NEW" company on the block whose equipment was out of this world and cheap as dirt. (Speaking of course about Rockford Fosgates car audio line) Back then, in the suburbs, Kenwood and Pioneer reigned supreme.

Well me and my aforementioned friend had devised a plan back then for his car, a (3) 12" sub setup based on the Pioneer Premier sub. I didn't pay much attention to the sub back then, but it really was impressive.
The box was to be made for the back of an '87 Camaro. This was the dawn of my box building career. We put hours of time designing and laying out proper air space, compensating for bracing and all of that... only for him not to be able to afford the third sub and abandoning the project.

So I had became determined at that point to put together a system so unreal it would curdle your milk. Well I've done that a couple of times eh... some ridiculous setups like 3 12's and 2 10's in the trunk of a '91 Ford Escort LX 4 door. Powered by 2 Orion Cobalt series amplifiers. (Pieces of shit!!) In any case, the following pages will show you some of my projects over the past months, as the projects from over the years were never recorded. Hope you enjoy.
