The exterior modeling of each structure is the first thing anyone will notice. A certain mood is conveyed in the external layout of each building.

St. Luke’s Episcopal church keeps a very basic and modest design. It measures less than 100 feet in total length and only stretches to a modest 2 stories in height. It’s exterior is kept very basic, with no extraneous decorations or elaborate pieces of art. The bell housing, the call to prayer, is modestly placed on top of the roof, and sounds every Sunday. It’s external styling is a perfect example of its basic no-frills functionality.

St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic church uses a much larger scale and elaborate exterior design to convey its holiness. The sheer size of St. Anthony’s can be expressed by stating that it’s exterior cannot be captured in its entirety in a single picture. Its outside grounds are adorned with stone sculptures and brass doors. Unfinished stone is used on the outside to convey a much older look, and to contrast the city surroundings. St. Anthony’s bell tower is its tallest point, spanning nearly 125 feet above the ground. This stunning and massive size will obviously attract many more parishioners than a much more modest building.
